Innovation for the Medical Logistics of the Future

ABzero is an innovative platform for autonomous medical logistics that uses drones to transport sensitive biological materials between healthcare facilities.

PQ Design Group supported the development of the system by contributing not only to the industrial design of the capsule, but also to mechanical design, prototyping, industrialization, pre-production, and production support.

The project is a concrete example of multidisciplinary product development, in which design, engineering, and manufacturing teams worked together to transform an innovative technology into a real, market-ready product.

The capsule was designed to protect its contents throughout all stages of transport, integrate with the drone system, and meet high standards for reliability, usability, and perceived quality.

At the same time, the product had to be designed with future industrial production in mind, simplifying assembly, maintenance, and testing procedures.

Design Challenges

Content Protection and Integrity

Ensure the safe transport of sensitive biological materials throughout all phases of the mission, protecting them from shocks, vibrations, and varying environmental conditions.

Integration of Technology and Usability

Integrate monitoring, temperature control, traceability, and remote-opening systems into a product that is intuitive and immediately understandable to healthcare professionals and logistics staff.

Industrialization of an Innovative Technology

Transform a highly innovative system into a manufacturable, reliable, and scalable product by optimizing components, assembly, testing, and production processes.
