Design of climate chambers for laboratory efficiency.
Climate chambers are specialized systems that simulate controlled environmental conditions, such as temperature and humidity, to evaluate the performance of materials, components, and products under a range of climatic conditions.
These systems play a crucial role in quality control, reliability testing, and product development.
In this project, PQ Design worked on the industrial design of a multi-module climate chamber with the aim of improving usability and maintainability in laboratory settings. The client’s request was to reorganize the internal components to improve accessibility for maintenance and simplify assembly operations.
1. Improved accessibility for maintenance
Electronics and service components have been consolidated into a dedicated module, allowing technicians to access the main systems without interfering with the test chamber and reducing downtime.
2. Modular architecture
The machine consists of several modules that separate the various functions, promoting both operational clarity and flexibility in laboratory workflows.
3. Ergonomics and Usability
A focus on interaction and ergonomics guided the placement of interfaces and access points, making the chamber more intuitive and efficient during daily testing operations.
