A modular platform designed to combine flexibility, scalability, and technical integration.
Rigel has partnered with PQ Design Group to develop a new modular platform for professional environmental monitoring.
The system was designed for applications in the pharmaceutical industry, cleanrooms, manufacturing environments, and other settings where reliability, scalability, and data control are essential requirements.
The project stems from the need to develop a flexible and highly versatile platform capable of functioning both as a standalone system that can be installed within the operating environment and as a solution that can be integrated into standard professional racks.
PQ Design Group oversaw the entire product development process: from the initial debrief with the client to the first architectural proposals, through concept development, prototyping, testing, optimization, and management of the first production batch.
Particular attention was paid to the system’s modularity, technical accessibility, and the structural design of the sheet-metal framework, which was developed to ensure sturdiness, visual order, and ease of assembly.
Design Challenges
1. Develop a truly modular platform
Design a flexible and scalable system capable of adapting to both professional rack configurations and standalone installations.
2. Combine technical complexity with high-quality construction
Organize the electronics, ventilation, accessibility, and sheet-metal structure within a neat, sturdy, and easily assembled design.
3. Turning a technical system into a recognizable product
Work on details, proportions, and formal language to create a contemporary, consistent, and instantly recognizable product identity.
