Runimalz is a hybrid gaming system developed for Xplored that combines physical toys with a digital experience. The system consists of a control board, three interactive characters, and physical elements that interact with a mobile app, creating a seamless connection between real-world and virtual play.
The design process focused on both the game board and the physical characters, with the goal of ensuring intuitive interaction and high engagement.
Using RFID technology and wireless connectivity, the characters come to life on the game board and interact with the digital environment. The result is a product that expands traditional gameplay into a connected and interactive system.
