Designing simplicity within a highly integrated device.
Seremy was originally developed as a compact wearable device designed for security, assistance, and personal monitoring applications aimed at older adults.
The project required the integration of electronics, optical components, and protective systems into a design intended for continuous, daily use.
To meet the requirements for IP68 water resistance, durability, and ergonomics, PQ Design Group developed a manufacturing solution based on overmolding and advanced component integration, helping to improve the product’s reliability, comfort, and perceived quality. The team also oversaw the industrialization of the casing and continues to manage its production.
One of the main goals was to minimize the complexity of use. The user interface was therefore designed around a single physical button, intended to make the device intuitive, easy to understand, and simple to use, even for people who are not very familiar with technology.
The work also focused on striking a balance between miniaturization, durability, ergonomics, and ease of use, transforming a complex electronic platform into a discreet, reassuring device suitable for everyday use.
Design Challenges
1. Reduce the complexity of the user experience
Design an extremely simple and intuitive user experience for a senior audience that is not very familiar with technology.
2. Combine technology and reliability in a compact design
